Its another fun summer for me at the KIIS-FM Beach Shack. I will be broadcasting live there every Saturday till Labor Day. Tons of prizes, contests, and lots of people watching. hehee..
I never thought I would say this, but...I just saw New Kids On The Block in concert.
They had a "rehearsal show" at the House Of Blues on Tuesday night. All 5 were there preparing for their performance on the Today show on Friday. It was a cool crowd, filled with mostly people from the New Kids fan club, so you know they were die hards.
They all looked great, and peformed great too. It was a short set. A medley of thier hits like "Hangin Tough", "Step By Step", "Please Don't Go Girl", and "The Right Stuff", then rolled into their new song, "Summertime" that world premiered with Seacrest a few days ago.
Wish I could post a couple of pics, but they didn't allow camera's or even cell phones into the venue. The people that had cell phones had to check them in, and put em in little baggies till the end of the show. Haha.. Tighter security than the airports.
Anyway. Good show, and cool to see yet another band/group from the past making a comeback.
Wango was a blast lastnight. Not only are the performers great, but its a chance to see people from work, and people who used to work at KIIS, but come back to help out. Its like a cool little family.
Alot of work goes into Wango, but I have to give props to Lisa Marie, and Angel. They ARE what make Wango Tango flow so well.
Also...nothin but love for our Street Team. Always on point, always focused, yet fun. I've worked at 6 radio stations in my career, and NOTHING can compare to the people we have on our Street Team. They get there before the sun rises, to set up everything you see, then they put on the headsets and walkie talkies, and escort and babysit the artists and dj's, and then help tear it all down at the end. Its a LONG day for them, and they work their booty's off for little recognition. Again, KIIS Street Team is the sssstuff!!!
It got a bit chilly there lastnight, so between the talking and the cold air, my throat is trashed. Need some tea and Halls to hook it up for sure.
As you know, I'm a huge soccer freak, and my team, Liverpool, play a huge game on Wednesday.
Its game 2 of the Champions League semi-finals against Chelsea. In game 1, the score was 1-1, so we HAVE to atleast score 1 goal to move on to the final against Manchester United.
Turn on ESPN2 at 11:30am on Wednesday, and cheer for the guys in red.
