    Tues November 6th
Good morning everyone. So I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday and he is having a major road block. All of his life he's had big dreams and aspirations. And even though he's been working hard at them, nothing seems to be working out for him and now he seems as if he is ready to give up. He's been through so much trying to accomplish everything he's always dreamed of, but now he just thinks maybe it's about time to call it quits. I told him, no, you can't give up. It's not in your character to give up. If something were easy then everyone would do it. And you've worked so hard up to this point in your life; you owe it to yourself to not give up. Seriously, when trying to accomplish your goals, the only one stopping is you. So if you're like my friend and feel like you've hit a major road block don't give up. It's not worth it. Quote of the day is, "When there's no wind in your sails row." Have a good day everyone.

When tragedy strikes, people get praying. People were probably already praying, but when something so obviously out of control of the hands of people occurs in dramatic fashion, many people look to God. Help save the people trapped, give us comfort, calm our fears, show us your love, and give us understanding.
It is entirely human to long for transcendence when the unpreventable and surprise disaster occurs. When something like the collapse of a major bridge in a major city during rush hour happens, it is a reminder that even with all of the power and control we have as humans and with all of the technology there is available to us, we are most certainly not in control.
What we want in times like these is to know that there is a power that exists that is bigger than the disaster. We want to know that we are not just balls of carbon based cells subject only to the whims of probability and chance. We want to know that we are not only loved, but loved by someone or something that can do something in this world.

We turn to God. Not everyone does, but most people do. Maybe God is a human creation as a way of coping with pain and fear. Maybe God is real and listens to what we say in these prayers in times of tragedy. Maybe God created people with the need for God and that we do turn to God as a way of coping and God exists. It takes faith to believe anything about God since there is no empirical proof solid enough to justify the belief in the existence or non-existence of God.

For most people, their faith rests in the existence and not the non-existence of God - especially when sudden tragedy strikes.

I believe in God. I believe God allows great freedom and intervenes on it at will and that intervention cannot be explained by ideas about how people believe God is supposed to love or care or act. God acts and is justified in doing so.

God is present at every tragedy humanity can create for itself. In all likelihood, most of the tragedies are intervened upon and no one ever knows it because it never happened. However, of the few that are permitted, God is there and willing to flow though anyone, believer or not, to help people.

Good morning everyone! I had a pretty relaxing weekend at least compared to my normal weekends. I got caught up with all my tivo and ate taco bell and Chinese food yesterday! It was great! And I know I'm supposed to be on a diet but watching TV and vegging out once in a while is ok. We all need happiness in life. And those are the little things in life that make me happy sometimes, bad food and good TV =) I'm back
to eating healthy though today. Yesterday I was talking to a good guy friend of mine. He and his girlfriend broke up a while back because she cheated on him and just overall didn't treat him very well. He did everything for her and she just didn't appreciate him. Anyway it's been a couple months now and although he knows she wasn't good for him he is still hurt and sad about it and sometimes misses her for some reason. He is strong though and knows that she isn't good for him. I told him he deserves better and that eventually the right girl will come along and everything will make sense.. I didn't really know what else to tell him because I know he already knows what is best for him. I did tell him a great quote I heard on the show big shots the other night. They said, "Right now it seems hard...impossible even..But one day your gonna look back at all of this and thank her...cuz u couldn't imagine your life any other way." Have a good day everyone.
