Production on the 2nd tv installment of the Jonas Brothers tv movie "Camp Rock" will kick off in late spring or summer of 2009. The first movie averaged 8.9 million viewers Friday night, besting the ratings received by the original "High School Musical" (the 2nd HSM pulled in 17.2 million in its first airing).
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline returned to a LA courtroom Tuesday morning resulting in overnight visits for Spears with their 2 young sons. A status conference in the custody case is set for July 15.
Mary-Kate Olsen will make a guest appearance on the ABC comedy "Samantha Who?" as a self-destructive bad girl who reminds Samantha of her younger self. Olsen made several guest appearances on Showtime's "Weeds" last year. She will next be seen in the film "The Wackness" opposite Ben Kingsley which hits theaters July 3rd.
Hilary Duff has joined the cast of the comedy "Stay Cool" opposite Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Mark Polish, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer. She will play a sexy high school senior who invites an older visiting author to her prom. Duff also plans to record her 5th studio album this summer.
A publicist for Amy Winehouse says the singer's father misspoke about her health condition. Mitch Winehouse said his daughter suffers from the early stages of emphysema due to her crack and cigarette smoking. According to the publicist, "she is not diagnosed with full-blown emphysema, but instead as early stages of what could lead to emphysema." Emphysema is a lung disease caused primarily by smoking. It takes years to develop and is mostly seen in people over 45 - Winehouse is 24-years-old.
Spice Girls' Melanie Brown has been named as co-host of this year's Miss Universe Pageant alongside Jerry Springer. The pageant will air live from Vietnam on July 13th on NBC.
