Britain's Daily Mirror is reporting that Madonna and Guy Richie are calling it quits and that Madonna has hired the divorce lawyer who represented Sir Paul McCartney in his divorce from Heather Mills.  Madonna has repeatedly denied rumors that her marriage is in trouble.

The MTV Video Music Awards will return to Los Angeles for the first time in a decade on September 7th.  The 25th annual awards show will take place on the Paramount Pictures lot in Hollywood, and will air on MTV that evening. Los Angeles last hosted the event in 1998. Since then, the awards have been held mostly in New York, but traveled to Miami in 2004 and 2005, and then Las Vegas last year.

Timbaland and Monique Idlett married in a formal ceremony on a private island in Aruba Sunday evening.  Among the 300 guests were Missy Elliott, Omarion, Magoo, Keri Hilson and Ginuwine.   They actually married early this month, wearing their sweats, by a family pastor.  Timbaland and Idlett welcomed a daughter, Reign, in November.  Timbaland has 2 sons, Demetrius and Frankie, from a previous relationship.

According to her father, Amy Winehouse has early stage emphysema and her lungs have been damaged by smoking crack cocaine and cigarettes.  She has reportedly been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat and has been warned that she will have to wear an oxygen mask unless she stops smoking drugs.  Winehouse fainted at her north London home last Monday and was taken to the hospital for tests.

Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough is mourning his father, Hoke, who died in his sleep Sunday morning.  Dorough's father had been diagnosed in March with lung and brain cancer.  He was 69.

A judge has set a Feb. 17, 2009 trial date in the lawsuit brought by Sonja Norwood, Brandy's mother, against Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Robert Kardashian Jr.  She has accused them of charging more than $120,000 on her credit card in 2006 and 2007 when Kim was working as a stylist for Brandy and dating Brandy's brother Ray J.  The Kardashians have denied the charges.

Miley Cyrus has been named the host of the Teen Choice 2008 Awards which will air on Fox August 4th.

While Billboard official numbers will be issued Wednesday morning - Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" becomes the first album since 50 Cent's "The Massacre" in 2005 to sell more than 1 million copies in a single week.  No album in 2006 sold as many as 800,000 copies, Kanye West's "Graduation" sold 957,000 copies in 2007.

According to probate court records, Britney Spears' father plans to sell her Studio City home in the latest liquidation of her assets.  The 7400 square-foot house which has 5 bedrooms, 6 1/2 bathrooms and is located in a gated community, was a scene of intense drama when Spears was taken from the home in an ambulance to a psychiatric hospital.  In March, a court granted Jamie Spears the power to "sell or dispose of" an undisclosed number of her seven cars (Spears has reportedly been looking at a home in Calabasas).

Oscar-nominee Terrence Howard will release his debut album "Terrence Howard - Me and the Band of Kings" on September 2nd - the album is a mix of soft pop-rock and jazzy tunes.

Michelle Branch is putting the final touches on her 3rd solo album "Everything Comes and Goes" - she is planning to stay on the country path that she began with the Wreckers.  She says she hopes to have the album out before the end of the year.

A paparazzo who pressed charges against Britney Spears after her car ran over his foot was himself to blame for any injury, prosecutors said, refusing to pursue the case.  After viewing police records and a videotape of the incident, the Deputy District Attorney concluded that the "only way the victim's foot could have been where the video indicates it to be was by the victim placing it in that location."

Snoop Dogg's wife Shante Broadus was arrested in Fullerton Saturday morning for DUI.  She was cited and released pending a court appearance.  Noone elese was in the car at the time of her arrest.

Amy Winehouse fainted in her London home Monday and was taken to the hospital.  Doctors at the London Clinic in Marylebone have not diagnosed her condition or determined what might have caused her to faint.
