MTV and Wilmer Valderrama are developing a scripted comedy dubbed"Baby Dolls." Told in faux-documentary style, the show centers on celebrity worship as told through the eyes of a naive and jaded personal assistant to a young actress. Other MTV shows in the works: "Teen Dream", a reality competition from 50 Cent that is searching for the next female singing superstar; from Diddy, a rock-themed "Making the Band" spinoff; and "Buzzin" which features Shwayze, his best friend/producer/musical partner Cisco Adler and their friend/tour manager Warren get into comic misadventures as they try to navigate their way to stardom in the music industry.
Usher has teamed with Sony Ericsson to become the face of the mobile phone maker's new Walkman music phone, which will be available later this year. The campaign will allow music fans access to exclusive content, contests to meet Usher on a video shoot and the chance to win VIP tickets for his North American tour later this year. Fans will also be able to vote on what other band Usher will go on tour with. In addition, the phone will come loaded with Usher ringtones and full-album downloads.
An 800-word prequel to "Harry Potter", written in author J.K. Rowley's own hand, will be auctioned off for charity in London on June 10th. The story-line is so shrouded in secrecy, it's not even clear if Harry himself makes an appearance. Proceeds will go to the writers' association English PEN and to Dyslexia Action.
First Death Row Records filed for bankruptcy in 2006, now a judge has ordered that all assets for the record label be auctioned off to the highest bidder on June 24th - which includes the rights to all the recordings of Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Minimum starting bid is $24 million.

The Jonas Brothers will release their next album "A Little Bit Longer" on August 12th - with the first single "Burnin' Up." According to the label, the video for the first track will be an "action-packed James Bond-esque adventure."
Other Jonas Brothers news: The Disney Book Group will publish a "behind-the-scenes" book all about the 3 brothers which will include never-before-seen photos and commentaries. The book is expected to be published in the fall.
A Malawi judge has approved Madonna's adoption of David Banda, a Malawian boy she met in an orphanage in 2006. David turns 3 in November. She met David while establishing charity projects in Malawi - and is funding her own and six other orphanages in the country. Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie have a son, Rocco, 7, and Madonna has a daughter, Lourdes, 11 from a previous relationship.
"American Idol" champ David Cook has officially signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Records and will begin recording tracks, in between dates on the "American Idols Live tour", for a debut album due this fall.
The Office's Rainn Wilson has signed on to star in Transformers 2 joining original cast members Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel. The sequel - which begins filming this summer - is slated for a 2009 release.
According to Variety magazine, T.I. has signed a deal with MTV to star in a reality series that will follow him as he performs 1000 hours of community service in advance of a one-year prison term next year. T.I. pleaded guilty in March to federal weapons charges for attempting to buy 3 machine guns and silencers in a shopping center parking lot just hours bfore he was due to perform at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. As part of a plea deal, T.I. was ordered to address youth groups about the dangers of guns and gangs, all of which will be captured by video crews.
