Miley Cyrus now says she is embarrassed by photos of herself, taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, which appear in an upcoming issue of "Vanity Fair" magazine. The pictures accompany an article with Cyrus and her father. They include shots of the 15-year-old wrapped in what appears to be a satin bedsheet, looking over her shoulder with her back exposed. "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," Cyrus said Sunday in a statement through her publicist. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."
Britney Spears is paying another visit to the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." Spears will reprise her role as bubbly secretary Abby in the May 12 episode.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon - engaged? The new couple held hands at the afterparty for Carey's new film "Tennesee" Saturday night at the Tribeca Film Festival with Carey wearing a huge ring on her left hand. When asked about a possible engagement, Cannon's rep had no comment, Carey's rep couldn't be reached.
Coldplay will make the first single "Violet Hill" from their new album "Viva la Vida" available as a free download to fans who visit their Web site - one week before it goes on sale at digital retailers. It will only be available for one week.

Casting for ABC's reality show "High School Musical: Summer Session", hosted by Nick Lachey, will kick off Sunday at the Long Beach Arena followed by auditions in Orlando on May 7th. The series premieres July 20th. The show will follow young hopefuls, aged 16-22, as they compete to ''receive the opportunity of a lifetime, becoming a part of `High School Musical' history." ABC hasn't quite yet confirmed what that means though.
Madonna debuted her new album "Hard Candy" Friday on MySpace - 4 days before the album's official release date.
The Empire State Building in New York City will be lit this week in lavendar, pink and white in Mariah Carey's honor. Her latest album sold 463,000 copies to debut #1 this week.
Amy Winehouse was arrested on suspicion of assault Friday following reports that she scuffled with two men during a wild night out. One man says he was hit by Winehouse when he got in her way while she was playing pool at a bar, another says Winehouse headbutted him after he tried to hail her a cab.
According to E! - producers for the CW's "Beverly Hills 90210" new series have reached out to Hilary Duff, offering her a starring role on the series. The potential character is that of Annie Mills, a Beverly Hills High student who is into theater acting (think Shannen Doherty's character in the original series) who leans alot on her adopted brother Dixon. No word if Duff is considering the role.
A paparrazzo has filed a hit and run report against Benji Madden after he allegedly ran over his foot outside Foxtail. As the photographers swarmed the car carrying Paris Hilton, with Madden behind the wheel, a yell can be heard on video. Madden reportedly checked out the situation, but the left the scene.

Scotland Yard is investigating an incident in which Amy Winehouse allegedly headbutted a 38-year-old man in London after he (shame on him) hailed her a cab. If convicted of assault, she could face up to six months' jail and a $4,000 fine.
Paris Hilton's upcoming MTV reality show, "I Wanna Be Paris' New Best Friend" is due to begin production next month. Candidates having posted profiles and videos on the show's Web site, ParisBFF.com, all in the hope of winning public favor (visitors to the site vote for their favorites) and being one of the 20 finalists who'll end up competing on the show...so far 85,000 hopefuls have signed up, with 6 million page views.
Ne-Yo will perform his songs "Closer" and "Stop This World" during an "All My Children" guest stint set to air May 21 and May 22. He will appear on the ABC daytime soap during the long anticipated second wedding of Angie and Jesse Hubbard.
Is Spencer Pratt trying to sabotage girlfriend Heidi Montag's career...according to the NY Post, MSNBC invited Montag to the White House Press Correspondents Dinner, but they weren't willing to pay for Pratt's ticket....so Pratt canceled for Montag saying the event wasn't "A-listy" enough for them....tell that to Pam Anderson, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Kerry Washington, John Cusack, and Rob Lowe who are all expected to attend.
G-Unit and the Game have delayed the release dates of their upcoming albums, which were both previously scheduled for June 24. G-Unit's "T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight)" is now slated for July 1, while the Game's "L.A.X." is penciled in for July 8.

Alicia Keys has been forced to cancel 2 shows (one in Pittsburgh, another in Cleveland) after being diagnosed with swollen vocal cords. The tour is expected to resume in Columbus, OH on Saturday.
Jennifer Lopez will co-executive produce, co-create and star in "docu-series" for TLC which focuses on how Lopez juggles her career, including launching a new fragrance, with motherhood.
Megan Fox (The Transformers) has been named Sexiest Woman in the World by the readers of FHM magazine - followed by Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Elisha Cuthbert and Scarlett Johansson making the top 5. Britney Spears, who once reigned at the top of the list, came in at #100.
David Blaine will try to break the world record for holding one's breath under water live on "The Oprah Winfrey" show next Wednesday April 30th. The current world record is 16 minutes and 14 seconds.
