In separate appearances, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake performed Thursday night during Madonna's show at Dodger Stadium.  No word if their paths even crossed.  Among the stars spotted in the first few rows:  Elizabeth Banks, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez and Lucy Lu.

Jesse McCartney will give audiences a glimpse of a new, darker side next week playing a murder suspect on "Law and Order: SVU."  McCartney has been reading scripts and looking for new acting parts. "One of my biggest goals for 2009 is to build up my film repertoire. You'll be seeing me do film and TV a little more," he said.

50 Cent has a new show on MTV, where business-savvy contestants compete for a shot at fame and a huge cash prize.  According to 50 Cent, the 14 contestants "have their own business ideas that they created and they're competing for $100,000 in seed money."  "50 Cent: The Money and the Power" debuts Thursday.

A photo on perezhilton.com shows a very young Pete Wentz in the arms of Vice-President elect Joe Biden.  Also in the picture is Wentz's mother - seems Pete's parents met Biden while campaigning for him back in 1982.

Both director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire signed on last month to the fourth and fifth installments of the "Spider-Man" series which will reportedly be shot at the same time to keep the budget down. No word yet on whether Kirsten Dunst will be back as Mary Jane Watson.

A private memorial service for Jennifer Hudson's slain mother, brother and nephew will be held at Chicago's Apostolic Church of God on Monday morning.  The service will be open to invited guests only. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made for the newly created Hudson-King Domestic Violence Protection Fund.  A public service will be held Sunday so that neighbors, friends and well-wishes can pay their respects.

Presidential nominee John McCain will make a cameo this Saturday on SNL.  Hosting the show is Ben Affleck, a supporter of Democratic candidate Barack Obama. The musical guest is David Cook.

Jessica Simpson has the #1 movie...in Russia.  "Major Movie Star", which hasn't found a US release date, stars Simpson as a bubble gum movie star who enlists in the US Army because she is so broke (think "Private Benjamin" starring Goldie Hawn).  Simpson's previous big screen effort "Blonde Ambition" went to dvd after having a run in just 8 Texas theaters.

Robert Downey Jr. has inked an extensive deal with Marvel Studios that will have him not only suiting up for two more Iron Man films but also reprising the role of Tony Stark and his heavy-metal alter ego in the upcoming superhero all-stars film The Avenger

Miley Cyrus' hit album "Breakout" will be expanded with a DVD for its "platinum edition" reissue on Nov. 18. The album version also includes two bonus songs: "Hovering," featuring Cyrus' brother Trace (who plays in Metro Station), and "Someday."  The DVD rounds up the video and "making of" segment for "67 Things," live performances of "7 Things," "Breakout," "Fly on the Wall," "Driveway," "Simple Song" and "See You Again" taped at Capitol's L.A. studio and interviews with Cyrus.

The bodyguard who claimed Lindsay Lohan failed to pay him more than $55,000 for VIP services rendered has formally dropped his lawsuit.  It's unclear whether David Kim dropped the complaint as a result of an out-of-court settlement or for other reasons.  Lohan has maintained she's never even met, let alone hired Kim.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz granted Jamie Spears a permanent conservatorship over his daughter Britney Spears on Tuesday afternoon. A court-appointed attorney for Spears says she does not object to the arrangement despite the fact that it's very unlikely Spears will be able to regain custody of her two sons while her dad is in charge.  If the terms of the deal remain the same, her dad will continue to oversee her estate, finances, legal affairs and medical care along with attorney Andrew Wallet.
