Word is the show Kanye West has been developing for HBO is "too hard-core" so the cable networks enthusiasm is waning. A rep for HBO says she had no knowledge of the show's status, noting that the show has been in development for some time and adding, "Until it is actually shot or picked up as a pilot, we don't have any info."
On Wednesday, Jay-Z was awarded a Global Leadership Award by the United Nations at a gala in New York City. Jay-Z has done lots of work to bring clean water to Africa through the Water for Life campaign.
Russell Brand will have his very own show on Comedy Central! It will tape in November (in the NYC) and is slated to air sometime in 2009. Here's what Russell Brand had to say about the new deal, "COMEDY CENTRAL is the home of 'South Park,' 'The Daily Show,' and 'The Sarah Silverman Program.' Shia LaBeouf, who crushed his hand recently in a car accident, suffered a cut below his eyebrow Tuesday while working on "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." He received stitches and went immediately back to work. LaBeouf's hand injury has been written into the script for the sequel.
Britney Spears dropped by John Philip Sousa Middle School #142 in The Bronx on Wednesday to present a $10,000 check to be used as an endowment for the school's year-old music program.
Kim Kardashian was eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday night. She and partner Mark Ballas headed into Tuesday's elimination show 9th out of 11 contestants (Rocco DiSpirito and Cloris Leachman received the lowest scores from the judges). Alicia Keys and Jack White have premiered the video for the theme to the new Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. "Another Way to Die," written by White, features Keys on piano, White on guitar, and both artists strutting through a computer-generated desert in fashions fit for espionage. Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig, hits theatres Nov. 14.
