Our Engament happened on Sunday March 18th!!!! It was my birthday and Luis (My Fiance) had told me we were going to a restaurant! What was weird was that on Sunday morning at church all my family would come say happy birthday but stayed quiet and not say anything but i never never imagined that something that would change my life forever was waiting for me. After church everyone went their way and so I left with my fiance to city walk. He said we needed to kill time because he had made reservations till 6pm. So 5:30pm comes up he said, "lets go babe or we will be late". We ended up at Micelis restaurant on Ventura Blv. (my favorite restaurant) I got happy!!!! He said, "We are going to eat on the balcony just the two of us" " I said ok"!!! As we walk to the back I was looking at my shoe when I looked up I saw a crowd of about 50 people screaming surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was all my family and my fiacne's family too!!!! I started crying and got very emotional!!!!!!! Luis and my sister Tita made special menus for everyone made out of scrapbook paper ( everyone got the menu back but my fiance framed them all with the pic of each family) Special flower arragement were ordered by my fiance for the occasion. As we are eating Rafa (his brother) says ok cake time! he said stand over here. My Fiance was next to me so everyone is singing happy birthday and the waiter is holding the cake up high!!! when the song ended he put the cake in front of me to blow the candles and as he put the cake down I am thinking it will say happy birthday, well to my surprise it said, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" That moment I wanted to faint I covered my eyes and when i opened them again I saw my fiance in front of me on one knee holding the watch (in our religion we use watches) in his hand!! By this time I was sobbing!!!! It was such a beautiful feeling. All I could hear is practically everyone in the restaurant and our family screaming! Some of our family members were crying. He asked on the microphone "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" Shaking and crying I said, "YEEEEEEEEEEEES ILL MARRY YOU!!! the hugs came after and the celebration began!!!!! Steve (Luis friend) sang to us "LOVE" and by then I was saying to my best friend and sister "I get to buy bridal magazines now!!!!!!" Luis did an awesome job and what made it more special was that all my family and part of his were there!!!!! it did not endd there, the special flower arrangements he ordered, he gave them to each of my sister in laws and my mother. He also paid for everyones dinner! It was the best BIRTHDAY ever!!!!!!!!! So here we are ready to begin a new life together! We are very excited and thankful to be given the opportunity to be in this contest!
