Kanye West And Choose Or Lose Give Young Veterans A Surprise 'Homecoming'

Young veterans returning from the war in Iraq face a host of difficult challenges, from re-acclimating to civilian life to dealing with unpaid bills and the hard memories of war. In an upcoming MTV News special, "Choose or Lose & Kanye West Present: Homecoming," the Chicago MC and MTV's Sway Calloway give returning veterans the surprise of their lives during home visits where they listen to the soldiers' stories and express gratitude for their service.

The one-hour special, which airs July 28 at 10 p.m. ET, will feature West and Calloway dropping in unexpectedly at the homes of some Iraq war veterans and seeing firsthand the often difficult and painful challenges the young vets face after returning home.

    Aubrey's Broadway Debut !!!!!

    Aubrey Backstage

Aubrey O'Day is more than ready for her Broadway debut in "Hairspray." We just caught up with the Danity Kane singer and her puppy Ginger backstage.

Aubrey, in full makeup, showed off her dog, who she dressed up in a pink wig and doggie cape accessorized with various "Hairspray"-themed trinkets. We talked to her in her dressing room minutes before she graced the Broadway stage for the first time.

Her dressing room was flooded with flowers, gifts and family coming by to wish her support and luck - and, of course, telling her to "break a leg." O'Day seemed in good spirits and was thrilled to have her family and friends in attendance (52 loved ones were there, to be exact).

Aubrey shook off those last-minute jitters, but she seemed more than ready to get the night started. She told us she couldn't wait to get out there. She went on to say that she is fulfilling her childhood dream of being a Broadway star.

Bow Wow's Just Teasing Omarion In 'Lookin' Boy,' But He's Serious About Soulja Boy Tell'em Collabo

'O is my homeboy, and I even joke with O about how tight he wears his jeans,' rapper says.

Bow Wow wants to know how a joke he made on his single turned into an Internet-wide rumor that he has a beef with his good friend Omarion. Well, he did make light of O's penchant for wearing form-fitting trousers.

"It just shows you how uptight people are about certain things. The song is a joke record," Bow told MTV News of the verse on the remix of Hot Stylz's punch-line-driven "Lookin' Boy." Click here to read more: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1590885/20080714/bow_wow.jhtml

Usher Wants To Make 'Music With Substance,' Be The Father He Never Had

No more 'music about being the celebrity, the player or having the car, the girl and the bling,' he says

When Usher cut the cord on his newborn baby, he also severed the connection to his former life. For a cover story featuring the first published photos of his son, the singer revealed to Essence that having a child has changed his whole life - even his music.

Since Usher wants to be the best role model possible for his son, Usher Raymond V, he's made "a deliberate choice to make music with substance." That means no more "music about being the celebrity, the player or having the car, the girl and the bling," he told the magazine. Though songs like that, "Love in This Club" for example, did appear on Here I Stand after his marriage to Tameka Foster last year, they were written before he formed his new family.
