    This week on the Community Council it's all about kids!

    First we spoke with Casey from the East Valley YMCA. The YMCA is a great organization that has been around for a very long time. America's 2,663 YMCAs serve more than 20.2 million people each year, uniting men, women and children of all ages, races, faiths, backgrounds, abilities and income levels. At the heart of community life across America, mission-driven YMCAs are a place to belong and to live the values that guide and unite our members: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

    We also talked about their Healthy Kids Day on April 12th. Make sure to check out your local YMCA on April 12th and to experience a great event all about being healthy and fit!

    Next we spoke with Trey from Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.  

    Their  mission is to provide training and support for students who aspire to enhance their creative talents. Each and every child desires freedom to creatively express themselves. We provide an environment that encourages freedom of expression, serves as a resource for families, and empowers via education.     We also featured next weeks guest. Bob Saget!!!! Bob is working with a great organization called Scleroderma Research Foundation. The SRF and its ever-growing group of national Cure Advocates have produced hundreds of events promoting scleroderma awareness and have raised millions of dollars for critical disease research

    This week on the KIIS Community Council

    First we spoke with Tobias Forrest, Toby is an Actor, Painter, musician and a true motivating force!!!! Check out his life story, trust me it will change your outlook on life! Check out Tobias's band CityZen RIGHT HERE!!!

    Tobias also did a song with Enrique Iglesias CHECK IT OUT HERE!!!

    Tobias also does with with -Von Dutch has as an Artist In Residency program supporting Toby, Prophet and other upcoming talent.

    After that we spoke with The Army. There are a ton of misconceptions about The Army, but check out what that Army could do for you and how it can change your lif!!!

    Last but not least we also spoke with R&B Singer and Broadway Star Mya. Mya is working with the North Shore Animal League America, which is the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world. Since 1944, The League's mission has been saving the lives of pets through adoption, rescue, spay/neuter and advocacy initiatives. Every year, the League reaches across the country to rescue, nurture and adopt nearly 20,000 pets into happy and loving homes.

    Mya is heading up the Tour for Life which will have mobile adoptions that are going to be traveling all across the country!!! Check out their website and the show to find out more information!!!

    This Week on the Community Council we spoke with The Easter Seals and discussed everything Autism!!

    Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 85 years. From child development centers to physical rehabilitation and job training for people with disabilities, Easter Seals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

    Next we spoke with an amazing guy named Jesse Billuaer from Life Rolls On.

     

    Life Rolls On is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that exists to be a grassroots resource that provides hope and is an advocate on behalf of young people whose lives have been affected by spinal cord injury (SCI). LRO is the story of the able-bodied and disabled coming together to motivate each other with the inspirational message of achievement in the face of extreme adversity.
