This week on the Community Council it's all about kids!
First we spoke with Casey from the East Valley YMCA. The YMCA is a great organization that has been around for a very long time. America's 2,663 YMCAs serve more than 20.2 million people each year, uniting men, women and children of all ages, races, faiths, backgrounds, abilities and income levels. At the heart of community life across America, mission-driven YMCAs are a place to belong and to live the values that guide and unite our members: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
We also talked about their Healthy Kids Day on April 12th. Make sure to check out your local YMCA on April 12th and to experience a great event all about being healthy and fit!

The SRF and its ever-growing group of national Cure Advocates have produced hundreds of events promoting scleroderma awareness and have raised millions of dollars for critical disease research

Last but not least we also spoke with R&B Singer and Broadway Star Mya. Mya is working with the North Shore Animal League America, which is the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world. Since 1944, The League's mission has been saving the lives of pets through adoption, rescue, spay/neuter and advocacy initiatives. Every year, the League reaches across the country to rescue, nurture and adopt nearly 20,000 pets into happy and loving homes.

This Week on the Community Council we spoke with The Easter Seals and discussed everything Autism!!
Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 85 years. From child development centers to physical rehabilitation and job training for people with disabilities, Easter Seals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.
Life Rolls On is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that exists to be a grassroots resource that provides hope and is an advocate on behalf of young people whose lives have been affected by spinal cord injury (SCI). LRO is the story of the able-bodied and disabled coming together to motivate each other with the inspirational message of achievement in the face of extreme adversity.
