    A.O.T.W...its a good one!

Tuesday, October 2, 2007, 08:07 PM PST [Athlete of the Week]

Another week and another dedication to a good friend of mine and fellow vipnetwork member...my friend Vanessa. Her all time favorite football player is Brett Favre from the Green Bay Packers. For those that don't know he is their quarterback and just had an amazing game this past Sunday. Favre completed 32 of 45 passes for 344 yards and recorded two touchdowns in the Packers' 23-16 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Favre's first-quarter touchdown was his 421st which set the all-time mark for touchdown passes.

Brett has been in the NFL for 17 seasons and 16 of those seasons he's been with the Green Bay Packers. He also has 147 victories as quarterback. I got to see this guy play one time in Green Bay last year thanks to Vanessa, one of the coolest trips I've ever taken...So as you all can see Brett is not just a great player, but he's going to go down as a legend...and he's pretty good looking for an older guy lol!!! Till Next time

    Athlete of the Week

Sunday, September 23, 2007, 08:37 AM PST [Athlete of the Week]

This weeks A.O.T.W is dedicated to a good friend of mine Slim. He's also on the street team and is a HUGE Bengals fan, his license plate even says "Who Dey" If your a Bengals fan you know what that means. Last year when I went to Green Bay to watch a football game I found that out in the airport. Basically its a song they sing..."Who Dey think are gonna beat them Bengals" so much fun to sing it when your watching the games! Anyways so moving on the Athlete I enjoy is QB and number 9; Carson Palmer.

He attended the University of Southern California, where he won the Heisman Trophy Award in 2002 in his senior season. He was drafted by the Bengals with the first overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft and signed a 9-year, $118.75 million contract extension on December 29, 2005. Bengals are 1-1 and Im hoping they'll get a better record cause I do love that orange and black, Carson's been doing pretty well, he has 8 touchdowns so far for the season and I'm sure he will have many more. Alright everyone together now...."WHO DEY"
    Till next week

    Athlete of the Week

Wednesday, September 19, 2007, 05:35 AM PST [Athlete of the Week]

This week's featured athlete is someone who I've been saving to share with you all; I've just been waiting for that perfect moment...and I guess now this is the time lol! I'd like to introduce you to James Loney, first baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers!

The begining of the season wasn't looking too good for James, he was sent back down to play for Dodgers farm team in Las Vegas, he wasn't happy but decided the best thing to do was fight his way back, and fight he did. He worked hard and got the call to come back in June and worked hard to get in every lineup which ended up in the move of Garciaparra to third base and Loney the Dodgers starting firstbaseman. He's batting .326 with 55 runs batted in and 12 homeruns. He's also born in the best month ever, but thats niether here nor there!

I love watching this guy play, he's got a great energy and so much focus. I saw the game where he ran into the outfield wall and he was such a tropper, I felt really bad for him too cause I heard that from across the stadium...but he toughed it out and now is doing an amazing job. So congrats to this Texas boy for winning my very special award...and if James if you ever need a cool SoCal girl to show you around Los Angeles, just give me a ring! ;)

    Till next time

    Hey everyone
To be picked by me; for the Athlete of the week you dont have to be the best athlete...you just have to catch my eye! This week I spent my Monday night at Fox's Sports Grill in Irvine and watched the Ravens vs Bengals football game. And even though the Bengals won, the Ravens still put up a good fight, and their quarterback...caught my eye! So this week I'd like to introduce you to Kyle Boller. He's been with the Ravens for five years and has an arm like a rifle! He also use to play for Berkley and was born in Burbank...HOLLAR!!!

    Athlete of the Week 3

Monday, September 3, 2007, 09:02 AM PST [Athlete of the Week]

There are a lot of things I love about summer...swimming, night time walks, baseball and the Olympics. Ok, so I know we didn't have the Olympics this year, but we will next year. So any mention of the Olympics and I get pretty excited. Hence my pick for Athlete of the Week this week. He did a great job hosting this years ESPY awards and now is playing for Team USA...LeBron James; Forward and number 23 for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Right now LeBron is playing for Team USA which qualified for the Beijing Olympics. Overall for the tournament, he's shooting 77 percent. He also leads the team in assists with 44. The Tornament is over, after a vicotry last night over Argentina and LeBron hit all 11 shots he took, including four three-pointers.
Sounds like a good start for Team USA and a good transition into basketball season for LeBron; which starts this October. Wow what am I gonna do with myself during the month of October. Baseball post-season, football season and basketball pre-season! WOW. Till next time have a great Labor Day everyone.
