I'm a huge fan of Pitbull, so when my friend told me he was going to be opening for him, I packed my bags and headed up to Las Vegas! What's up guys, it's Kalyna, and I must say that this past weekend was one the best weekends ever! I haven't been to Vegas since I was 15 so I was excited to head out in general, but I was more excited to go to the show! It took place at Poetry Nightclub inside Caesars Palace and was put on by 4onesyndicate.... Performances were made by Colby Odanis, Roscoe Umali, Federation, I-15 and of course my favorite Pitbull! Snopp was also in the building showing his support for the artists and of course enjoying his stay in Las Vegas... All the artists did really well and the crowd was sooooo hype! Colby sounded SOOOOO good.... I must say I was impressed! Roscoe did a great job keeping the crowd energy up and I gotta give it up to my bay area folks aka federation for bringing the Bay to Vegas! The whole night was like a huge party especially when Pitbull came up! Hes always able to get the ladies going! Even though the spot was a bit smaller, I really liked it because it made it more relaxed and chill.....Anyway, kudos again to all the performers you guys were great! And make sure you check out all the pictures from the night because we took a ton!
Soooo if looking at pictures of Lenny Kravitz isn't enough for you, how bout watching him in concert!!!! What's up everyone, its Street Teamer Kalyna and yes its true, I went to the Lenny Kravitz concert on Jan 17 in Santa Monica! My seats were pretty far back cause we got there a little late BUT when I zoomed in on my camera he was life size! Lol. During his show he stated that he didn't get a chance to practice before, but regardless he still did amazing! I think the best part was when he showcased his musical talent by playing the guitar for long sets and totally owning the drums! He's honestly a huge huge HUGE talent! He joked during the show about how he lived a few blocks away from the venue and just sang and played music 24/7 before he got to where he is today. TOverall the show was very mellow and super relaxed. The crowd united when he sang "Stillness of Heart" and literally EVERYONE was singing! That has to be by far the best feeling an artist and audience can share.... Lenny Kravitz was like Heaven to watch and I give the show 5 giant stars! :)
Hey guys! It's Christina from your KIIS STREET TEAM! Guess what I watched this weekend?!?! I watched Mariah Carey's DVD - "THE ADVENTURES OF MIMI" tour!! You're jealous I know! haha. Until you see it with your own eyes, you're not gonna believe how absolutely fantastic it was! Ok, so I'll admit right off the back...my opinion of Ms. Mariah Carey will always be a little biased because she is in fact my absolute ALL TIME favorite singer. Wow, ever since I was little - always singing Mariah Carey, making up choreographed routines to her songs, and trying to hit those insanely high as the sky notes that could probably shatter glass! Yep, that was me and I KNOW it was you too! I was so sad that I didn't get the opportunity to watch her live on this tour so you can imagine how ecstatic i was when I found out she was making a dvd of it! Since I knew I'd loooove her concert dvd without even watching it first, I asked my Dad (he covers his ears everytime she hits the high notes) to sit down and watch it with me! Yeah, took a little persuading but I did it! I told him I wouldn't record his favorite show, Mad Money and a couple football games he was waiting to watch, if he didn't sit and watch Mariah with me! :) haha...It worked. Just me and my Dad...and Mariah!
To begin the show...we SHAKED IT OFF with Mariah Carey! Gosh, the costume changes!! She actually starts off in a very similar "ENSEMBLE" that Ms. Britney Spears donned at this years VMA'S! You know, the black shorts with the little black top! Yep and she looks awesome! Her nickname "MIMI" dazzled in sparkling glittering hollywood-esque lights across the stage! She danced between the M...the I...the M...and the I again! (Didn't that just sound like I was rapping?!?! :) The M, the I, the M, the I..it's MIMIIIII! :)
Slowed it down to the classic VISION OF LOVE! The hit that started the whole Mariah Carey craze so long ago! Looking like a golden goddess in an ever-flowing yellow gown! Still sounding as beautiful and HOT at is first did! With all she's gone through in her life since that first hit....sounds like the song means so much more to her...so much more soul! What a crowd faaavorite!
Mariah Carey dimmed the house lights and sang DON'T FORGET ABOUT US in a more casual outfit...so casual yet so intimate and really connecting with the thousands of fans in the audience! I can imagine how close the audience felt to Mariah during this moment! Mariah described this as one of the most important points in the show!
Special guest appearance from BOYZ II MEN! Singing the hit, ONE SWEET DAY of course! I've heard this song countless number of times but every single time I hear it...I can't help but think about all the special people in my own life that I've lost.....and you can tell that almost every single person in the whole audience felt the same way. This one song created by these talented artists years ago still has this transcending ability to take each person back to that exact moment in time when this song pleasantly fed our ears and hearts.
Did you know Mariah Carey loves performing WE BELONG TOGETHER!?? That's what came next in the lineup of songs. She calls it a life changing moment....a get the chills kinda moment! She can't believe the response it gets from the fans! She performed this song as her encore in a gown fit for a queen.
I wish this concert could have went on forever and ever! I could sit and watch Mariah Carey perform every single song in her catalog including MARIAH CAREY CHRISTMAS!!! :)
At the end of this dvd, I turned to my dad and asked him what he thought of Mariah nooooow...now that he's seen her perform and explain the meaning behind specific songs and performances. He explained to me that there is definitely no denying that she can sing..."BUT WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO CHANGE CLOTHES SO MUCH!?!" Haha!
She's pretty much the best singer in the entire world! :) She's proved time and time and time again that she is the REAL DEAL and definitely a KIIS FM FAVORITE ARTIST!
xoxo

I could actually picture J. Holiday sittin' in the back of his Lac' while he recorded this CD. He sounds smooth, and relaxed in each of his tracks. In Ghetto, J. Holiday reminisces about his days living in the Ghetto of D.C. "same place, same crimes, ain't nothing changed...I know cause I've been there..."
Bed, the first single from his CD is also featured. In this track, he seduces the listener with promises of putting the ladies to Bed, it is a hot track and what Rhianna does with the word Umbrella, J. Holiday does with the word Bed...be..e..e..e.e..bed...
Be with Me is probably my favorite track off the CD, it lists all the reasons that someone should "be with" J. Holiday, and "if it's against the law to love you, sue me..." that is pretty smooth, and is sure to be one of the next singles off the album, this is true R&B... If I'm the music, you're my lyric..." hot, hot, hot...!
Just check it out, especially if you are a fan of R&B and soul. It is a pretty hot album, that will NOT put you to "Bed"!
Tracks:
1. BACK OF MY LAC' 2. GHETTO 3. THUG COMMANDMENTS 4. BED 5. BETCHA NEVER HAD 6. GOOD FOR EACH OTHER 7. COME HERE 8. BE WITH ME 9. SUFFOCATE 10. FATAL 11. WITHOUT YOU 12. PIMP IN ME 13. THANK YOU 14. FALLIN'
Everybody get down! I actually first heard of Metro Station on iTunes as part of a free download on new music Tuesday. The song that they were giving away was Shake it! And let me tell you I did shake it! Perhaps that was a little TMI! But I really liked it, and added it to my playlist when I was at the gym doing that crazy cardio. So when I was given the opportunity to review this CD I was stoked.
Metro Station is a fairly new band comprised of Mason Musso-vocals/guitar, Trace Cyrus-vocals/guitar, (yes, that's right CYRUS, will the talent in that family ever cease???)Blake Healy-programming/additional production, and Anthony Improgo-drums.
This CD has a really cool Electro/Pop feel to it, it makes you wanna get up and dance, or at least bop your head to the sounds of Control, which is track 2, even as I am listening to this I am tapping my foot, "take it off, let's just touch, I'm coming down, bring me up, take it off, let's just touch..." These boys also have a little fixation of taking clothes off, it's cool, and it makes for good music. This "stripping" effect is also featured in Wish We Were Older "I know you're dying to take off your clothes, just trust in me...you kiss my lips and taste my pain". That is pretty nice writing, which all the songs on this album were written by Metro Station, except for True To Me.
I also really like the fact that they will "swim the ocean" for Kelsey, it is pretty sweet as love song to a gal named Kelsey. (I want someone to swim the ocean for me! again, TMI!!!)
I'm also not sure about the ages of these guys, but they do have a couple of tracks that indicate that they may be on the young side, such as: Seventeen Forever, and Wish We Were Older.
Age aside, these guys are really talented and I wish them success. Check them out, and let me know what you think...
