The First New Music Network Meeting is a WRAP - want to come to the next one? Text "Network" to 41027
Yesterday we did our first "New Music Network Meeting" in the lounge. It went really well! DJ Drew spun a few new songs & listeners rated them. We had Mark Ronson in and he performed with Daniel Merriweather while listeners asked questions. He's the "buzz" producer of the moment similar to how Timbaland was last year. He produced the Amy Winehouse & Lily Allen CDs and has his own disc coming with featured artists. Once we get the interview, performance, listener questions, and music test posted Mark Ronson will post it on his site as well!
This will be a great platform to continue music discussions and activity on the VIP Network.
JoJo, Karli, Fat D, Drew, and Nelson did a really good job yesterday. I appreciate you guys going the extra mile when there are SO many new things in the mix.
Wednesday night, 6/20, Nelly Furtado played The Greek!
Everyone freaked out when she covered Gnarles Barkley "Crazy."Â She did it once before for KIIS... hear it HERE.Â
It was gorgeous hearing her voice echo out over Griffith Park whether it be to classic, acoustic, cuts like "I'm Like A Bird" or club jamz like "Give It To Me." It was a perfect evening and the packed out KIIS crowd was fully into it.
I'm currently totally feeling the Fabolous CD & also White Stripes (in stores tomorrow.)  Fab came in studio to KIIS on Friday & interviewed with Boy Toy Jesse. His new CD Return of the Hustler will make just about everyone happy. There are DOPE street tracks in which he verbally puts the smack down on all the poser M.C.s There are plenty of love songs with classic Fab lines. In one of my favorite tracks he says "I stack cash Shaq high, Yao high, your money is only Bow Wow high. Ouch! Great features - Lloyd, T. Pain, Rihanna, Swizz Beats are all on the CD. The Lloyd cut is my favorite.
Check out the White Stripes if you want a GOOD summer Rock CD.
Word on the street is they're playing in the old Tower Records Parking lot tomorrow night. They're calling it "Icky Thump Records." Icky Thump is the first single and it attacks immgration reform. I loooooooooove it.Â
Don't forget - if you want to hear more new music first text "NETWORK" to 41027. You could come to KIIS & sit in on a Music Meeting Weds. with Karli, Fat D, DJ Drew, and Mark Ronson. Ooooooweee!Â
KIIS is going to start having New Music Network Meetings at the station.
If you wanna come hang here's what you do. Text the word NETWORK to 41027 now! We would love to have you. Â
If you're a member of the KIIS New Music Network you'll hear about them first. At the meetings we'll invited you to the station. *About 50 members. Karli & Fat Daniel will host. Each meeting we'll bring a new artist in to talk about their music and turn you onto some cool new jamz. After we hang and talk music DJ Drew will play you about 10 new songs and you can let us know what you think about the music for KIIS.Â
So basically - you will get to: 1. Come hang at KIIS
2. Hear music before anybody in the world
3. Hang out VIP Style w/new artists, superstar artists, and the best music people anywhere
The first KIIS New Music Network meeting is going to be Weds. 5/20 in the afternoon, at KIIS, in the Guitar Center Studio
. MARK RONSON will be hanging out courtesy of J Records. He's a super hot DJ, producer, and all around SICK music dude. Trust me - you're going to love him. If you want a taste of his music watch the video below.
KIIS hung with Enrique Iglesias on Tuesday Night at The Virgin Megastore Hollywood & Highland for the launch of his "Insomniac" CD. He performed and signed CDs for HOURS. Check pics here!
