    It's Been A While...

    Thursday, November 13, 2008, 01:22 PM [General]

    hey all

so I have been MIA for quite some time. Some crazy stuff has happened in the past few months. Lets just put it this way...things just change.

But anyway...I am very happy and that is all that matters :)

My mom adopted a little girl from mexico. She is only 14 months old and I have been acting like a mom! yes..I change diapers, make bottles, give baths and sing her to sleep. I had no idea having a baby would be this hard. But at the end of the day is all worth it, because this little baby has a better, safer, loving home. She is going to grow up with a family that will always love her.

I am so excited about this weekend, I am heading to the New LATC in downtown to check out a show on Frida Kahlo. I am taking my best friend with me, but first I had to ask the girlfriend for permission...hahaha. I love both of them! They are amazing.

We Are Giving Away A Quinceanera !!!!!

    Wednesday, May 28, 2008, 09:46 AM [General]

As you may have already heard us talking about it, we are giving away a Perfect Quinceanera at Plaza Mexico in Lynwood! And not just giving away the banquet room or the food, we are hooking you up with everything!!! The dresses, the cake, the tuxedos..etc...everything you need. Parents. will not have to break the bank trying hard to put this together!

When I was younger, I wanted a quinceanera. I wanted to wear that beautiful dress and dance to Chayanne's "Tiempo Vals" or "El baile de las mariposas" with a cute guy. My parents couldn't afford it. It was painful and I remember crying myself to sleep and I remember hating my mom for it because at that time I thought it was her full responsibility to make this happen for me. I wasn't thinking clearly, and who really does at 14?? I wasn't thinking of the magnitude of costs. It isn't as easy as just buying a cake at Superior and frying some "godornises" en la casuela.  I went to a few my cousins and friends over the top Quinceaneras, always the dama; never the Quinceanera. And it pained me; as I danced with my partner, I would imagine my own. I would detail every moment, every song, every dish, every color, and every emotion. What I failed to realize was that my mom was crying too. It was painful for her to not give her only daughter such a beautiful and traditional ceremony/party.  Especially when the only reason is money. What a shame right?

So...this is why we want to give the Perfect QUinceanera to a deserving young lady! We don't want the family to worry about a thing! We want to give it to you because you deserve it! Sign up fast! HERE

    I Lost 15 Pounds

    Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 11:13 AM [General]

I lost 15 pounds in 3 months. Weird, since I dont work out too much, as a matter of fact my only work out is from the kitchen table to my bed. I know, that is very bad, and I dont suggest anyone doing that. I totally have the yearning to work out, I just never get around it. Anyway...lately everyone around me has been telling me that I look alot skinnier. HMm...that's interesting, I thought to myself...I'mnot doing anything different, I am not eating any differently. I dont eat junk food. I eat very healthy for the most part- lots of veggies, easy on the meat, but that wasn't changing my body weight.  So I decide to weigh myself, out of curiousity. Was everyone just telling me I looked thinner and more fit out of courtesy? Well, turns out I lost 15 lbs. I was shocked. What am I doing??? I went from 118 to 103. Huge, right? I kept thinking, tracing my daily routine. Eat breakfast, work, lunch, work, dinner, bed. No work out anywhere in between. But wait...for the past 4 months I've decided to include green tea every morning to my diet. Was that it?? Green tea, the answer to my weight lost? I seem to think so, because that is all Ive done differently.

Few peeple I mention this to agree with my theory. green tea, full of antioxidants, somehow also regulates your digestive system. Good stuff! Green tea is my new best friend.  If only I could get myself to work out. I really want to do it. But there is a differnce with wanting and actually doing.

    Kate Del Castillo

    Wednesday, March 19, 2008, 01:16 PM [General]

Do you guys remember la novela "Muchachitas"??? That had to be one of my favorite novelas ever. Kate Del Castillo was one of the "Muchachitas" and I hated her character soooo much!!!! LOL But in all reality she is great person. She is starring in a new film 'Bajo La Misma Luna' (Under The Same Moon) and this morning we had her on the show. I had a chance to see the movie earlier this week and I think it is an amazing movie and it tells a story that many Hispanics are familiar with: leavind behind your life in another country to start a new one and hopefully better one in this country.
