    Miles De Pajaritos!

    Tuesday, December 18, 2007, 12:31 PM [General]

So I think I am almost done with my Christmas shopping! I just need one of my brothers and Michael. He is going to be the last one since I think Im going to spend alot of time trying to figure out what to get him!

This weekend, he flew in to surprise his mom for his 60th bday! His sister, Carmen coordinated an amazing surprise party that started at the Museum of Latin America in Long Beach and ended with mariachi and lots of wine and  Mexican food back at their house. I have tons of pictures and video I need to post!

Last night, his sister, Carmen and I drove to the Getty Museum (took us 2 hours from Lynwood) to opening night of Graciela Iturbide's exhibit. Ciudad magazine was hosting the exclusive event. They were serving pozole and tamales and you know me, I was all over it!! HAHAHA!. According to many Iturbide is one of the best, if not the best photographer from Mexico. She is well known in the art world and her pieces are amazing! There is this black and white photo she took while in Guanajuato that I fell in love with. Just look at it!! Isn't it amazing??? I totally want this in my living room

Her work will be at the Getty till April so please, if you have a free evening I urge you to check it out! But if you live in my hood ( Lynwood,Long Beach,OC) go on a Saturday because traffic will put you in a foul mood and ruin it! We bumped into Julieta Venegas's twin sister who happens to be a photographer as well. Mexican director, Alejandro González Iñárritu was also enjoying the exhibit. And if you have no idea who she is, Google her: Graciela Iturbide. Trust me when I say you won't be dissapointed. She also shot a series in East LA back in the mid-80s and it was just too funny to look back and see all these women with their feathered hair and Dickies pants!!

What Do I Want For Christmas?

    Wednesday, December 12, 2007, 08:03 PM [General]

The other day Michael asked me what I wanted for Christmas. That really got me thinking. I don't need anything really. Anything materialistic that is. Honestly all I want for Christmas is Michael home. If only he could be back home playing soccer and with his family and with me.

    Christmas Shopping

    Wednesday, December 5, 2007, 08:22 PM [General]

I have not  even started my Christmas shopping! Seriously, I don't even know where to begin. I need to shop for my family and my boyfriend and my friends! I'm not worried too much bout my family, they are very simple to shop for. EXCEPT for my younger brother Oscar, everytime I get him anything, he finds somethng wrong with it and goes and exchanges it. He has to be pickiest guy in the world. His likes and sense of style constanly change and I cannot keep up with it.

Michael's gift  is going to be sort of simple, he has been dropping hints at wanting an electric razor. Fairly easy, except for the fact that there is like 1,000 different electric razors at Target. Last year I got him a mini wine cooler. It holds about 9 bottles of wine an keeps them at the perfect temperature. I went crazy looking for the perfect wine cooler and I do not want to go through that again.

We might also do a Secret Santa at work with the morning show staff, those are always fun until you get someone you really don't want. LOL..hey it happens, I've had a few people in the past back when I used to work at JCPenney that would come to me asking to swtich.

Just buy them a bottle of wine and some queso Casique, that is what I say. You can ever go wrong with some queso Casique!!
