On Thursday, the Memphis native gave two separate donations of $100,000 to the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum and the Memphis Music Foundation.

JK Rowling Was Suicidal...

The auther of the Harry Potter books considered ending her life in the 1990's after her first marriage ended with Jorge Arante.  She said, "We're talking suicidal thoughts here, we're not talking 'I'm a little bit miserable. Mid-twenties life circumstances were poor and I really plummeted."

After she left Jorge, friends helped her pay the ..."adlinkMouseOut(event,this,7);" onclick="adlinkMouseClick(event,this,7);" onmouseover="adlinkMouseOver(event,this,7);" id="KonaLink7" oncontextmenu="return false;">security deposit on an apartment where she wrote Harry Potter. And the rest is history! J.K. said her daughter kept her going and she also sought the help of a therapist.
