Girl Talk with Sis... "The Vacation is Over"

Thursday, September 4, 2008, 10:12 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Today's Topic: "The Vacation is Over"

So Summer is for the most part over now:(   Either you're back in school, or your kids are and it's time to get back to your normal life.  My summer was crazy... at least 3 Vegas trips, Europe and New York... I am pooped and don't want to see my suitcase for a long time.  Don't get me wrong I had such a fun time but I also was really bad when it came to very strict work out schedule.  Before summer I was going to the gym at least 3 times a week.  But you know how that goes, one week you're on vacation the next week you're too tired to work out because of your vacation... blah blah blah.

Now it's September and I find that I have been making excuses all summer long.  ENOUGH!!!  The vacation is over and it's time to hit the gym!  Maybe this happened to you to this summer so use this as a friendly reminder to jump on the treadmill.  Have a great day.

Girl Talk with Sis..."Back to School"

Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 10:35 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

    Today's Topic: Back to School

Today was the first day of school for a lot of kids.  Whether it was their first day of kindergarten or their senior year in high school, I hope if you have kids that you always are involved in their lives; even if they don't want you to be.

It was kinda funny, one of my co-workers today came in late and he said it was because he just dropped off his son at his first day of kindergarten.  I was curious to see how he felt.  It's his oldest of 2 kids, and I asked him if he was excited or sad that he was growing up.  I feel like I would be crying when I drive my kid to his first day of school.  He told me how he was prepared to stay with him all day if he had to.  I guess only for today parents can stay as long as they want to help the kids feel comfortable.  As soon as they got into the classroom, his son said, "You can go Daddy".  Awwww!

I was the same way when I was little, so independent and thought that I knew it all.  One thing I wish though is that my parents asked me more questions about school. They worked so much that sometimes they had no idea what was going on in my life.  Luckily for them I was some what of  a   good kid and didn't get into trouble. I don't have any kids but I hope to some day and I can't wait for them to have their own school adventures.  Have a great day.

    Girl Talk with Sis..."The CW's 90210"

    Today's Topic: "Good TV"

Did you have a great Labor Day weekend? It was nice to have yesterday off. How good was the season premiere of Gossip Girl last night??  I wonder how everything is going to work out with Sirena and Dan.  I can't wait for the series premiere of 90210 tonight!  I'm actually hosting the premiere party in Beverly Hills tonight with KIIS FM.  Some of the cast members are going to be there and it should be really fun!  I've missed me some good TV.  There's not any good show on during the summer.  So if you were a fan of the original 90210, I would assume you're gonna tune in tonight and watch right?!  It's already set to record on my DVR.

Girl Talk with Sis... "Hard Work Pays Off"

Friday, August 29, 2008, 11:27 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Today's Topic: Hard Work Pays Off

Today I received a very good email.  It was from my old Program Director in San Diego informing everyone that one of my friends in SD just got hired as a co-host for the morning show down there.  I am sooooo happy for him!  He started out in radio just like me, interning, working odd hours and basically working for free (school credit).  There are times when you are interning or working 5 different jobs that you stop and ask yourself, "Why am I doing this?  Why am I working so hard and not seeing any results?"

Well, you just have to be patient.  It sounds so cliché but it does pay off in the end! If you are one of seven interns and you all have the same responsibility, be the one that works the hardest stays the latest and NEVER COMPLAINS! I remember working late nights or overnights and missing fun parties in college.  Yeah, I was bummed that I missed Brandon's 4th of July 2006 Party on the beach, but at the time I would just focus on work and realize that all my hard work will pay off one day.  And it did!  And honestly who is talking about Brandon's party now?  NOBODY!

Getting a great job or something that you really want is about prioritizing.  Figure out what you want then figure out what you have to do to get it!  Surround yourself with people you love and never doubt that you can achieve your dreams. With hard work and dedication anything is possible!  Have a great Labor Day weekend:)

Girl Talk with Sis... "Back from NY"

Thursday, August 28, 2008, 11:46 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Today's Topic: Back from New York

Well I got home from New York last night around 11pm.  It was a fun short trip but a lot of work as I mentioned before.  It was my first time in NY and I was amazed as to how gigantic all the buildings are.  I didn't have enough time to do stuff, but I did get to check out a David Letterman taping and since our hotel was right in the middle of Time Square I saw where TRL is taped and walked around that area a bit.

A few of my friends live in New York, so I met up with them.  And I did get to meet Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Vanessa Minnillo, and Leighton Meester from Gossip Girl so that was fun!

    Check out all my pics!
