    Day 3 in New York

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 09:27 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Looks like today is my last day in NY.  We're back in LA for  tomorrow's show.  I've had an amazing time here, this city is pretty big.  I had a wonderful dinner with some of my good friends from High School last night at this great Italian restaurant.

Today's show was entertaining...Leighton Meester from Gossip Girl stopped by.  She was super cute and so TALL.  I can't wait for the new season to start up this Monday on The CW.

    Talk to you tomorrow,

    Sisanie

    Hi From NEW YORK!!!!

Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 09:41 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Well Hiiiiii.... OMG New York is amazing! I'm having so much fun but also working hard as well. Filling in for Ellen K is a lot of work:)

The morning show is so fast pace and time really flies. Ryan's been fun to work with as well and we've had some amazing celebs roll through. Kara Dioguardi who is the new 4th judge on American Idol came in yesterday along with Vanessa Minillo. Today L.A. Reid stopped by along with Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.

I went to a David Letterman taping yesterday and got to check that out. BTW they keep that studio so freeeakin' cold!! He had Shawn Johnson the USA Gymnastics girl on she was so cute! Sorry no cameras alowed in there:(

Today I think I'm going to check out Central Park and maybe jog around there. My hotel charges $10 a day to work out so I figure why pay to run a tredmill when I'm in NY and could run through beautiful Central Park. I'll let you know how that went. Thank you for listening and I'll be back to my normal schedule on Friday.

Girl Talk with Sis..."Should you break up with the BF because of his parents?"

Thursday, August 21, 2008, 11:24 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Today's Topic: Should you break up with the BF because of his parents?

Yesterday I got an email from "Anonymous" in Cypress and she was stuck in bind.  She asked me:

"I've been with my boyfriend for 11 months and can't seem to get along with his parents.  They just don't like me?  It's like they think that their son should be with someone else.  Like I'm not good enough for him.  Should I break up with him because of his parents?"

Eeeeeeek, that is a tough one.  Here's the deal, if you are considering ending your relationship with your man because his mom gives you dirty looks, that's lame!  In the long run you're not dating his parents, you're dating him and the love you have for each other should be strong enough to surpass the negative energy you may be feeling from his folks.  I'm not saying you should start making T-Shirts that say "Team Girlfriend" and "Team Parents", but try to look at the situation in a mature manner and really think about how much you love him.  I would say talk to your significant other about how you feel and take baby steps in trying to build a great relationship with his mom and dad.  I'm sure once they realize you ain't goin' anywhere, they will be more open minded to letting you into the family.

    xoxo,

    Sisanie

Girl Talk with Sis... "Do you lose your friend after they get married?"

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 11:22 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Today's Topic: "Do you lose your friend after they get married?"

So last night one of my good college friends called me kind of upset... I asked her what was wrong and she said ever since her friend Jillian got married, they don't hang out anymore and it's almost as if she is shutting her out of her life on purpose.  Unless if there is more to this story that I don't know about, I couldn't see how someone who has been your friend for over 15 years can just shut you out.

So I'm curious, do you lose your friends after they get married?  I consider myself still pretty young.  At 24, I don't have many friends who are married.  My sister who is in her early 30s does and I remember her telling me that it's not that you lose a friend.... It's just that things well... change.

So I told my friend, "listen it's not that Jillian doesn't want to ever be friends with you again, its just that she is starting a new chapter in her life that maybe she thinks you can't relate to because you are single."  I think in a situation like this, it's best to give your friend space and time with her new hubby but also explain to her exactly how you feel.  Communication is KEY in either a romantic relationship or a friendship.  Tell her you want to plan a girl's day... It could be something as fun as going to the spa, getting your nails done, or even as simple as coming over to her house and helping her go through and organize her wedding pictures.  It's important to express that you still can be a part of her life even though she's not taking patron shots with you on the weekends anymore.  Have a great Wednesday.

    Xoxo,

    Sisanie
