So I wish I had some exciting stories to share with you about my weekend, but I don't. I'm still kind of sick... man I thought this would be done by now . . . but it just won't leave my system. I kind of laid low this weekend and by low I mean, I did pretty much nothing. I hung out with a few of my good friends from high school on Saturday and was DD for the night. Yesterday I seriously (and I don't even know if I'm proud to admit this) sat on my couch all day. Still taking my medicine and watched a lot of TV plus the new Rock of Love... Yessss Inna is gone! How was your weekend? I hope more exciting than mine.
If you click on the picture above you can see all 4 pictures I took Saturday night :)
So you probably didn't even notice that I was out sick for the past 2 days. I know Dave Syles kinda sounds like a girl sometimes. Awww THANK YOU Dave for filling in for me!!! Anyway, ya I had some sort of evil illness in me where my throat felt like there was a tennis ball in it and it hurt to swallow. And my head felt like someone picked me up by my feet and banged my head to the ground like five times. Do I feel 100% today? Not really, but could I have stayed another day at home with daytime TV? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I missed you all sooooo much you have no idea!
So my throat is still hurtin' a little but my voice is back and my head doesn't feel like it weighs 100 lbs. The doctor hooked it up with some antibiotics, and lots of chicken noodle soup and liquids did the trick! I have to say Wednesday was the most painful day and even worse when my entire building decided to have a blackout during the Girl's Night of American Idol! It was terrible!! I think that's why Alaina Whitaker got voted off... that could have been a lot of votes for her, my building holds like 800 units. Oh well...Yesterday was a little bit better except for that I couldn't figure out how to fix my internet (that had been affected by the blackout) till late in the evening. Either way, I'm so happy to be back! Let's get this weekend going for you:)
Today is my Dad's birthday. Wow if someone asked me who my hero was, I wouldn't even hesitate to say him. It's amazing how much he has done for me, my siblings . . . our entire family. He's probably one of the smartest people I know and not to mention the most patient. I'll be the first to admit I was probably not the easiest teenager to deal with; I really am amazed as to how patient he was with me. He's belived in me my entire life and always was so supportive. When I was growing up he was the Dad that drove me and all my friends to our Dance and Cheer Competitions. He would hang out the whole day and video tape EVERYTHING!
He has the best story of how he came here with $99 in his pocket from his small village in Peru. It was 1969 and he arrived on New Years Eve in Los Angeles and he built his life in America from the bottom. Truly incredible! It took me until college to appreciate and realize how hard he had it and how easy he made it for his children. Everything he has ever worked for was for us. He wanted to give us the life he didn't have as a child. He's my inspiration to work hard and achieve goals that may seem impossible. Nothing is impossible if you set your mind to and believe in yourself.
Well another weekend in Vegas... man it went by so fast. We stayed at the MGM's Signature Suites. They were really nice; it was like a 3 bedroom apartment with a kitchen and everything. The first night we went to LAX. I really liked that place we had a table right by the dance floor. Our Second night we went to The Mix at Mandalay Bay and then gambled a little bit. We had a pretty fun group of people... I have a bunch of pictures... click on the picture above to see all my pics from this weekend :)
So this weekend I'm going to Vegas BABY! Yaaay.... I'm so excited but I feel like today is going to be the longest day of my life at work. Just counting down the minutes...lol. I love Vegas! I try to go at least once a month or every other month. I'm kind of a pro when it comes to Vegas... hmm don't know if that's something to brag about.
Either way here are some of my Vegas tips:
A short trip is the best. No more than 2 nights or about 36 hours is the best Vegas trip
When you get there make sure you have a plan. Where are you going that night, lock it down. Do you have a connection to get it? Or even better if you are able to buy a table or split one with all you're friends, that's the best
Bring cash when you go out... there's nothing worse than waking up in the morning realizing you were having a little too much fun last night and charged a bunch of round of drinks on your American Express.
Try to fly home! The drive out there is not that bad, you're excited and you have tons of adrenalin. But trust me you don't want to be stuck on that drive home (possibly hung over and tired) for 8 hours. It's best to fly there and back.. and take a some what early flight home Sunday... like 1pm.
And my last tip... WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS! ;)
