Today's Topic: Setting Boundaries after a Break up
Well breaking up is definitely hard to do. Whether it's someone who broke up with you or you that dumped them... it's always good to set some boundaries or rules after a break up. Unless if you want this break up to be another relationship in itself by continuing to hook up, you're just going to have to break up all over again.
So there's obviously two ways to look at this, if he/she broke up with you then you totally have to respect their decision and realize that they don't want to be with you. I know that sounds super harsh, but begging for them to take you back is not the way to go. Give them space and try to do things that keep you busy. Avoid seeing them as much as possible and stay cool when you do interact with them. Don't make them feel sorry for you by acting super sad, it's best to act as if you are okay and your life is so fabulous without them.
If you were the one to break their heart then make sure you stick to it. There's nothing worse then playing with someone's emotions. Don't go back and forth with them and call them whenever you feel lonely. Take responsibility for your actions and follow through with what you decided. Chances are they might do anything to win you back so if you are messing with their mind, that's just totally not cool.
So overall, I say it's best to keep your distance. Breaking up changes a relationship whether or not you get back together it will never be the same. If you decide to stay friends then stay friends. If you decided to still hook up every now and then, I might consider that playing with fire. Just my opinion, we all know you will end up doing whatever you want in the end no matter what anyone tells you.
So today I was driving to work... and I saw this sign and it said "Be carful of your habits because they become your character". Totally random because I pass by this same corner every day and have never read or noticed it before. It got me thinking how true this statement is.
We all have some bad habits right? I think the habits we're talking about here aren't ones like biting your nails or twirling your hair. They are deeper like if you have the habit to talk issshhhh on other people then that makes you an "ish talker". If you have the habit to always look in the mirror like every 5 minutes then that may be a sign that you are insecure or just overly in love yourself. Lol. Catch my drift?
Good or bad these habits do kinda make us the people we are. So better to have good habits like always being on time thus giving you a character that is dependable. Rather then the opposite. It's just something to think about today. Have a great Tuesday!
Alright so over the weekend my best friend had a birthday. It was sooo much fun I helped her decorate her place. It was a "Sex in the City" theme and I bought all pink decorations. We even had hot pink martini cups. It was a house party, mannn when was the last time you went to one of those. I gotta say my Champagne Fruit Punch was a hit and my homemade guacamole ran out in like 30 minutes... (not braggin at all...lol).
So I get it we're getting older and getting a group of friends together can be tough since we all have so much going on. I'm just a little upset when someone claims they are going to come and flake all last minute. I'm sad to have to call some of my friends out that didn't make the 30 minute drive up to Santa Monica because they were "ohh too tired" or "something came up". It's our best friend's birthday.... Hellllloo? It's not like we just randomly called everyone the day of. This was planned for a few weeks now.
There's a difference between something truly coming up like a family emergency, a car accident, etc.. I mean I wouldn't consider that flaking. A flake is when they are igoring your calls for about 2 hours and then send u a text saying they're not going to make it around 11pm. A flake is when they decide to out to dinner with their boyfriend (who they see EVERY DAY) and then dinner runs late and they become too tired to drive up. FLAKES! Don't be one. If you don't wanna do something or go somewhere just be honest from the very beginning. Ya feel me?
Wow did you miss out last night if you didn't come to Cinespace in Hollywood for the Grand Opening of "Celebrity Thursdays"! From Go-Go Dancers, to VIP Sections, Live Performances, 2 dance rooms... great drinks... I mean the list goes on! I had so much fun I don't think I left till last call.
This is how I see it, summer is here so why don't we kick off our weekends a little early every week and meet me in Hollywood for a night full of HOTNESS! We'll be back next Thursday and every Thursday... so no excuses next week k? Have a great weekend, I'm gonna keep it mellow tonight because tomorrow I've got a baby shower in the afternoon then I'm heading out to Santa Monica for my best friend Tori's Birthday! Yaaaay, I hardly ever go out in S.M. so it should be fun, she's having a Sex and the City Themed Party. We all are going to wear pink... well that's the plan at least. I'll talk to you later.
Happy Thursday everyone... maybe it's the warm weather but I'm starting to get excited about the nightlife again. Yaaay we don't have to freeze when we go out anymore ladies. So tonight, grab that cute dress from your closet and let's meet up in Hollywood!
