Paula Abdul says she and her fellow American Idol judges were thrown a "curveball" Tuesday night when they were asked to quickly sum up first half of the show - after originally being told they'd critique the contestants at the end.
Calling into Idol host Ryan Seacrest'sshow this morning, Abdul said her strange response to Jason Castro's performance was an "honest mistake." Abdul admits she'd written notes on both Castro and another performer on the same card, and in the end, was simply "confused" as she gave her feedback.
"In seven years we've never had to do that," she told Seacrest of the format change, adding, "We were only following directions." Blah Blah Blah... we all know she's loonie anyways, she's more and more out of it ever episode.
Speaking of Idol....
I think people.com got it right with picking these two as the bottom two. If I were to pick, then I would say Castro leaves... he just hasn't been trying very hard the past few weeks. Brooke seems to really want this, but she just looks so scared when she is on stage, I think she may leave next week.

So everyone and their momma is talking about this Miley Cyrus picture taking for Vanity Fair by Annie Leibovitz who by the way is a highly respected and very talented photographer. I'm a pretty liberal person, so this picture doesn't bug me as much as it may bug some of you especially if you are a mother. Yes she's only 15, but the fact that everyone is making such a big deal about this is only making the picture seem more and more inappropriate. I find it tasteful and very artistic. Miley Cyrus says that she's "embarrassed" about semi-topless photographs of herself in the June 2008 issue of Vanity Fair.
"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," says the 15-year-old Disney sensation, who posed with a blanket wrapped around her chest. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

Wearing a humongous, gleaming ring on her left hand, Mariah Carey stayed close to Nick Cannon at the afterparty for her new film, Tennessee, on Saturday night.
The pair held hands at the bash at Tenjune, which followed the movie's premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. The two also looked cozy in Vegas on April 14. When asked about a possible engagement, Cannon's rep had no comment; Carey's was unable to be reached for comment.

A pap filed a hit-and-run report with the L.A. Sheriffs Department after he claims Benji Madden ran over his foot last night. TMZ has video of the paps covering Benji and Wonky's car as they left Foxtail last night. You can hear one of the paps screaming as Benji allegedly runs over his footsie. Benji sort of checks things out and then takes off. OMG.... it's totally the pap's fault... LEAVE BENJI ALOOOOONNEE!!
There's definitely a massacre going down at Good Morning America right now. Mariah Carey performed this morning and it didn't go well. During "Touch My Body," the back-up track started too soon and Mariah tried to sing her way through it, but you can tell she was boiling inside.
And then about 3 minutes into the performance, one of the back-up singers starts singing her part. Mimi turns to her and sings "Stop singing my paaaarttt...now babbbby..." OMG! How would you hate to be that back-up singer right now. Probably hating life! Check out the video below

"A former regular on "Saturday Night Live," Fallon, 33, would take over sometime next year as host of the 12:30 a.m. talk show. O'Brien is to replace Jay Leno on NBC's "Tonight" show, aired at 11:30 p.m. each weeknight..... As long ago as last summer, NBC late-night boss Rick Ludwin was quoted as saying that Fallon "is at the top of our short list."
Heidi Montag was reportedly invited to the White House Correspondents gala by MSNBC, but pulled out when they wouldn't pay for Spencer's expenses. Page Six reports that Spencer demanded two first-class plane tickets for both him and Heidi even though he wasn't invited.
MSNBC refused to pay for his expenses, so he cancelled Heidi's appearance. Spencer said the event "wasn't 'A-listy' enough."
A rep for MSNBC denied they ever invited the plastic pony. Heidi's rep blamed it on scheduling conflicts. Err....isn't Spencer her rep?
